Born on the East Coast, Staxx started his music journey at 14, sneaking into NYC clubs in the 1990s. Immersed in underground culture, he moved to Hawaii in 1993 and quickly became part of the Maui rave scene, learning house music while working at numerous beach parties and events.
In 2002, he relocated to the West Coast, finding his place in Portland’s dance community through Matty Star’s After Dark parties in an Armenian bakery. This led to collaborations with venues like Groove Suite, a key underground spot.
With over 20 years of experience, Staxx has hosted events like Afterlife and House Call, showcasing a diverse sound from deep house to UKG. He emphasizes storytelling through his sets, creating environments for dancers to express freely.
Current Status:
Monthly residency at Back 2 Earth every second Saturday. Hosting local and visiting guests. Every fourth Friday at Jungle Bar, spinning UKG, Breaks, Drum & Bass, and Jungle.
